This thread about the words "saved " and "unsaved" reminds me of the
following bluegrass/gospel ditty I was working on one overworked night...

(to a tune vaguely reminiscent of "Wabash Cannonball")

Stuck at my computer
In the middle of the night
My system had just crashed again
Would I ever get it right
I'd drunk way too much coffee
Felt so bitter and so mean
That's when these words began to scroll
Across my PC screen:

"Computer boy, these here machines
You might think they serve you well
But that information highway
Could lead you straight to hell
Now you just watched your work go down
That digital black hole
And if you can't save your data, son,
How will you save your soul?"

[The song goes on to give theological twists to terms like "upgrade,"
"debug," and "recompile," but you get the idea... Any banjo players out
there who'd like to help me finish the lyrics and maybe cut an MP3, give me
a holler :*)]
