Hello,

I'm a newbie to listservs, so please bear with me.

I have a dual need for some information about computer-based training used
for sales training. I'm currently doing research for a class (for a proposal
and paper) that will also apply to future responsibilities in my job
(developing CBT courses).

For the proposal, I need to justify my desire to develop CBT courses that
could be partially or solely used as a training metholdology for our sale
force. How will it benefit the company? Will it accommodate and satisfy the
customers' learning styles and needs? (It must be cost-effective to not only
develop in-house, but save money related to travel, time, etc.)

I'd greatly appreciate any information from personal experiences (even if the
CBT programs aren't related to sales training), or referrals to another
listserve if no one is able to supply this type of information. My class ends
in three weeks, so I would need this information soon.

Some questions to think about when responding:

Has anyone developed or bought CBT software that's applicable to a sales
training environment? Or has been a trainer or trainee using CBT.

For training programs, was CBT or CAI used exclusively or in conjuction with
other methodologies?
Was it difficult or easy to sell CBT to management?
How did trainees react?
How was ROI measured?
In what areas was it most effective?
Was software developed solely for this type of training or adapted from
existing programs?

Thank you very much for your time and attention to my request.
