Owen, anyone who writes it this way is definitely incorrect. I
remember a grade school English teacher drilling into our thick
little skulls the difference between a 'soft' H (as in hour) and a
'hard' H (as in hotel). It took some time, but it finally sunk in
and has stayed with me ever since.
