Hi,

I've been successfully distilling a large FrameMaker document that
combines several smaller docs (chapters from many books) into a master
index by making a master index book, then distilling it. Both Index and
TOC are hyper-linked.

Part of the cover page is an alphabet of links to the GroupIX tags in
the index itself. Those tags are the alphabet headings in the index.

So if I distill with a hypertext marker over a letter "B" on the cover
page with the following contents:

gotolink mastixIX.fm:B

..it produces a link to the letter B in the index. When generating an
index, Frame (in its docs) says it automatically generates a
hypertext marker to each GroupIX (letter) tag like this:

newlink B

The trouble comes when I'd like to link to (already distilled) other
indexes outside this master index. The following hypertext marker
works:

gotolink OTHERIX:frontpage

(OTHERIX.PDF is the file) I'm also successful making "newlink TOP" and
getting this link to work:

gotolink OTHERIX:TOP

What doesn't work, however, is

gotolink: OTHERIX:B

(or any other Index GroupIX alphabet letter).

Any suggestions? (One more thing: these books are large. Would size
influence Acrobat's ability to make the link?)

Thanks,
