Perhaps this would be OK for a systems manual,
but for a user manual, I don't think I'd do it that
way. Why can't you just say something like this:

_________________________________

At the "Do you want to add new and delete old?"
prompt, click Yes to add all new wuddlebups
and delete the old.

-or-

Click No to cancel the wuddleblups file update,
and return to the wuddleblups work file.
__________________________________

Or maybe I'm just not understanding the question.
