Begin by listing all of your accomplishments from this past year. List and
give details for each doc you have written, each organizational improvement
you have made, all training you have taken, etc.

Next, back up your request for a promotion by presenting your vision for the
documentation process at your company. Whether that means casting yourself
as the future manager of a multi-person pubs department, or if it means you
will continue to be the lone writer, show that you are leadership material.
