After working with FrameMaker and its wonderful "reference pages" I
developed a little cheatsheet of my own. I have a little document
called "Quick Copy" and I have several graphical things there that I
just copy into my "real" document. It sort of works like a template,
but much easier. I have some little sidebar notes, fancy formatted
tables, warning paragraphs with graphic symbols, etc. It has worked
fine for me. I just automatically open it with my Word document and
use Ctrl+f6 to flip back and forth when I want to use something. It
makes my document much more consistent.

It might work for your tables.... you can just just paste the text
inside the tables.
