Subject:acronym in chapter name From:Kathleen Holscher <kholscher -at- NSISW -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 11 Aug 1999 10:32:16 -0500
Would you use an acronym in a chapter title?
Small book (50-60 pages) called Installation and Getting Started that
accompanies a longer (300+ pages) User's Guide.
Chapter 1 - Introduction
Chapter 2 - Installation
Chapter 3 - Server
Chapter 4 - Client
The operating system for this book is NetWare so the server chapter will be
about loading and unloading NetWare Loadable Modules (called NLMs).
Audience isn't a major issue here because even the most inexperienced and
least knowledgable sys admins are going to know the acronym NLM. So would
you use a well known acronym in the chapter title?
