So it's the old technical WRITER or TECHNICAL writer thread again with a
twist of gender issues thrown in.

Here's what I think:

-- There are jobs out there for which technical knowledge is more
important than writing skills.

-- There are jobs out there for which writing skills are more important
than technical knowledge.

-- There are jobs out there for which both are requirements.

-- If you can do both and do both well, you'll make more money and be in
higher demand. Otherwise, you're the equivalent of a slick-fielding
shortstop who can't hit or a lumbering power-hitting first baseman who
can't run or catch. Both have their place (especially where money isn't
abundant) and can be very productive in certain situations, but neither
will ever be a complete player.

As for the gender issue, my team allows both men and women to play. You
just have to be good at what you do.
