Frances-

According to Dr. Peter Drucker, studies (he didn't say what studies) have
shown that when someone leaves an organization it takes 25 to 35 times their
salary to replace the knowledge he or she takes with them.

For KM benchmarking information go to www.apqc.org. They have hundreds of
best practices from case studies. They may be able to help you with this.
Also, the book If Only We Knew What We Know has information you can use.
