In the last 6 months I went from Word to Quark to Frame. I agree with much
of what's been said here -- that Quark is GREAT for graphics-intensive
magazine- and brochure-type layout. But lacked some critical features for
doing the kind of documentation we're producing.

Here's the one that shoved me over to Frame: Quark in its native state
simply couldn't handle the tables in our documents. The $400 add-on package
that I found was difficult to work with and only seemed to improve the
situation slightly.

This was, in itself, enough to force me to another product. And though
there are some design elements that were easier in Word than they are in
Frame, such as defining a style to have a shaded background, I'm INFINITELY
happier in Frame than I was in Word.
