I was browsing the Microsoft Manual of Style today, and I noticed that they
specifically said when making up fake file names NOT to use "fu" or "fu.bar"
for sample file names.

If there are any current or former Microsoft writers out there, I am curious
about the history behind this admonition. Does MS documentation have a
reputation for suggestive examples?

Our documentation, incidentally, often features local and national polititians
for human examples. Their addresses and phone numbers are often real because
they are public figures, and most legal privacy issues do not apply.
