ParkerVision, Inc., has an immediate opening for a full-time, onsite
technical writer to assist in the development of all user documentation
to support our software-based video production product. This individual
will work with people from multiple departments and will report directly
to Engineering.
ParkerVision is a growing, fast-paced, medium-sized company located in
Jacksonville, Florida. ParkerVision serves the broadcast and

Responsibilities include:
--Create and maintain online help (HTMLHelp) for a large video
production software product.
--Design, develop, write and edit user training and reference manuals
for both hardware and software.
--Establish standards and procedures for documentation development.
Requirements include:
--2-3 years minimum technical writing experience in a software
environment. Instructional Design background a plus.
--Ability to see the big picture and execute details in a self-directed
environment.
--Curiosity and a desire to learn complex systems.
--Research and interviewing skills.
--Good organizational skills.
--Profiency in Windows 95, Microsoft Word 97, RoboHTML 7.0
--Ability to create and modify custom Word templates and stylesheets.
--Working knowledge of mainstream desktop publishing and drawing
packages (Quark Xpress, Corel Draw and PaintShopPro preferred).
--Knowledge of HTML and Javascript a plus.
--Self-starter, capable of achieving a goal with minimal supervision.
--Capable of building user documentation by combining design goals and
specifications with product functionality and processes.
