Unless I'm missing something, the consensus needed is between
you and your corporate lawyers. The various opinions of writers
in different circumstances aren't necessarily applicable.

What we did (when writing our commercial UNIX book) was to
send the Open Group's URL to our editor with our comments
and a specific request for legal advice from the responsible
attorneys. Then we just prepared to do a global search and replace
to accommodate the verdict.
