I don't have a problem with it, as long as it is applied in a manner
where it really fits.

Example: "When changing board CP01, replace wires originating from ports
P01, P02, P03, P04, etc."

OTOH, If I knew the last port number, then I would have used "..from
ports P01 through and including P09." However, if I don't know the last
port number, then etc. will do.

If there is any chance that it could be misinterpreted, then don't use
it.
