Tanya Jessup asked:

"We're considering using XML in our department. I would like to do some
research and I'm looking for some advice on a good XML book. Does anyone
have any suggestions on a good Introduction to XML book?"

I found Simon St. Laurent's "XML, a Primer" (MIS Press, 1998). an excellent
and readable intro to XML. It covers structure and coding, both somewhat
technical subjects, but if you understand how HTML works this will be an
easy (and fascinating!) read.

You might also try Charles Goldfarb and Paul Prescod's "The XML Handbook"
(Prentic-Hall, 1998), which gives many real-life examples of how XML can be
and is being used.

Both books are available from Amazon.com.

Joe Miller
