The Technical Writing Manager will be responsible for the production and
quality of IDXtend documentation for both internal and external customers.
The Manager will provide planning and direction for IDXtend documentation
efforts, with the goals of increased customer satisfaction, better informed
support staff, reduced support costs and enhanced product marketability.
The Technical Writing Manager is responsible for coordinating the needs of
the IDXtend Product Life Cycles and an Internal product Steering Team with
the activities of the technical writers who produce and maintain the
materials that support IDXtend products and the activities of IDXtend
personnel. These materials include, but are not limited to, reference
manuals, product overviews, web sites, and on-line documentation. The
Technical Writing Manager will establish long and short term goals for the
documentation department. The Manager will ensure that the documentation
sets are integrated with the training materials and activities, are modular
in design and easy to maintain, fulfill the needs which have been
identified for each product, and are produced in a timely fashion. The
Manager will maintain close ties with product development team leaders and
with activities for all new and existing products, and ensure that writers
formally plan schedules and coordinate resources to develop appropriate
documentation.
