A plain text editor shouldn't ever be slow on a 486. For that matter, it
shouldn't be slow on a 7.5 Mhz 286. There's some fundamental problem
with the design or implementation of the editor portion. Not a bug, per
se, but some ill-conceived approach to the problem.

HomeSite isn't the only one with the "buffered keyboard" feature
;-). Before putting your cash down for anything, load a fairly big web
page into it and see how it behaves.

It's in the sub-$100 range (79? 89?). I don't remember the exact price.
Whatever it is, it's too much for something that performs so poorly.

There are quite a few cheap and free HTML editors available at
tucows.com. You might want to experiment with some of those.
