I remember this coming up before and someone saying that they count it
as a negative if a person were to be in the same job for more than two
or three years.

I think that's a little short-sighted. If you get into a company
that's kicking butt, compensating you well, and allowing you to
broaden your skills and take on more responisibility, you'd be kind of
silly to leave (all other things being equal).

I guess the only hard-and-fast rule is that there isn't a
hard-and-fast rule. What really rings my bell might turn you off
completely in terms of experience, work history, ect., etc.
