In Silicon Valley, companies are paying big bucks to find qualified
local people:

Huge ads in the San Jose Mercury and other papers
Ads in professional and technical publications
Billboards along the freeways
Job fairs with over 300 companies attending
Listings with online job web sites
Etc.

The shortage of qualified people is real and the unions
should concentrate on more important issues like why are
most professionals in Silicon Valley not interested in unions.
