I have to disagree with some of this. Not to pick on Dianna, but I've
recently written documentation for a multi-tier application server and
scalable, client-side, and server-side are all valid and meaningful
terms in that documentation.

If the application server's not scalable than it's not worth very
much, 'cause then when you increase your user base by a factor of X
you have to start all over and a lot of money, time, and effort go
down the drain.

What's more, to the audience I'm addressing, scalable isn't jargon.
It's a specific and (dare I say) effective work with a specific meaning.

Like all things, it's the context that counts.
