Subject:HELP! DComp doc tool in BPCS From:"McGroarty, Lisa" <LMcGroarty -at- CIBER -dot- COM> Date:Mon, 5 Oct 1998 09:13:29 -0600
Hi!
Hoping someone out there can help me with this problem. I am likely to be
assigned as the sole TW for documenting a BPCS system. I'm totally lost!
I started here as a "publications editor," editing mostly policy &
procedures manuals, training manuals, customer service reference docs, etc.
My main content area as a TW and Project Manager has been EFT, including
debit and credit card network procedures, processing overviews, etc. I have
a copy of DComp and have tooled around it, read the Help and Cue Cards, but
still have no idea what the thing is producing. It wouldn't be PC for me to
contact the Project Manager on the IT side yet, I certainly don't want *him*
to know how little I know.
You'll notice my experience completely lacks "systems" documentation. Aside
from this trivial hurdle, my main questions are:
* What does this software produce?
* How will users use it?
* Where can I find references and additional info?
I searched the list archives at Cambridge, but was not able to contact the
TECHWR-L archives themselves. Hope this query is not a rehash.
Please respond on or off list.
TIA
