In regards to Robert Maxey's question about how valuable a writing
degree is in the field of writing, I have a short answer.

Because the value of degrees has always been a hot debate, I believe
that it all depends upon how the potential employer values the degree --
and how you value your degree or choice not to pursue one.

By the way, I have an MA in English (concentration: pedagogy), and I,
myself, highly value what my education has done for me. It expanded my
thinking about philosophy, religion, science, and so on, in addition to
providing me a skill to make money.

Pursue happiness!
