We've got HiJaak, Freehand 7, CorelDraw 7, and VISIO Technical 4.1 available
for vector graphics. Of those, Freehand 7 (FH7) is the app we have chosen to
use unless there's a good reason to use another such as:
* It's easier to edit an developer's Visio drawing than move it to FH
* A service bureau needs artwork in Corel

But I find that I use these different packages even more when I'm trying to
convert an AutoCAD DXF file to something I can use within Freehand. All
these packages import DXF and can export Adobe Illustrator (AI), and AI can
be imported into FH. The problem is that there are many flavours of DXF
files. Sort of like the strange flavours of HTML which can paralyze some
browsers while leaving others unscathed. And just like the browzerz, these
various graphic apps react to the DXFs differently. Except that the DXFs we
must cope with behave extremely badly in most graphics apps. When converting
a DXF to something useable, I try importing it into the various programs,
including HiJaak. Eventually, (if my computer has good karma that day) one
of the apps will be able to read, display, and graciously export the DXF
into AI so I can use it in FH.

That's about all I use HiJaak for. But even it, as a dedicated file
converter, will choke on a DXF that another graphic app will happily digest.
