Attention (in particular) Canadians!

I'm in a position to soon negotiate a long-term work situation a current
client. They have a lot of work for me, but want to avoid the high
contract prices that would be incurred. From a personal point of view,
it might be beneficial to come to some sort of compromise. I like the
company, the people, and the work is very interesting.

Does anyone work on a flat rate (e.g., monthly) for long-term work? What
are the going rates for a senior-level (7+ years experience) TW
(permanent employee) in Canada these days.

I realize salaries will vary from region to region. (I've checked the
STC survey but, again, I'm not sure they reflect reality). Some general
rates, however, would give me something to take to the table.

Also a factor: I telecommute, so am using my own equipment, software
etc. and travel to the site would be required on occasion. What sort of
(other) things should I consider when weighing my options.
