Responsibilities: Develop programming documentation for application
developers who are customizing our client and web applications or creating
web and client applications to work with our web/client/server system.
Enhance existing manuals and propose and write additional manuals as needed.
Estimate and maintain schedules. Gather information by interviewing software
engineers, reading engineering specs, and reading code. Participate in
project meetings. Participate in shaping the future of our documentation as
a member of a growing technical publications team.
Qualifications: At least 3 years experience writing for a technical
audience, preferably software application developers. Familiarity with web
and client/server technology and object-oriented programming. Experience
documenting web products. Ability to write clearly and succinctly about
technical concepts. Ability to work both independently and as a responsible
member of a team. Working knowledge of FrameMaker. BA or equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with one or more of
the following: Visual Basic, C/C++, Java, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, ASP.
Experience authoring online help would also be valuable.
