Whittman-Hart, an international IT consulting firm, is seeking a manager
for the documentation and training group. At WH we call this Practice
Leader for Training Solutions.
We need someone with experience in the following areas:
Technical documentation experience--as a writer
Project management of documentation or training projects
People management of departments or teams of multiple writers or
trainers
Experience working in consulting--independent or for a
consulting firm
Experience in sales or assisting sales of tech doc and training
services (or less experience but the desire)
You won't do much end-user writing or training, but more project
management, writing proposals, creating business plans, managing
staffing to a P&L, mentoring, hiring. We currently have 16 writers. We
do traditional paper manuals, both user and training, and online help.
We also design and create content for Web sites, as well as do HTML and
JavaScript coding.We create CBTs and we conduct rollout training. We
collaborate with the other business units at WH--especially Custom
Applications.

We are opening 4-5 branches a year in cities throughout the country.
Many of the branches now are in the midwest, although we are also in
Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, Morristown NJ, San Francisco, and London.
