Sure! Technical editing experience in the trades along with project
management and liaison experience is the next best thing to direct software
experience. A company producing print docs will probably find you most
valuable, but you will also be of interest to other companies...even the
"well known publisher"...especially if you help with any online offerings
this company might produce, too.
