Please....for the correct terminology as a TC or Tech. Writer....in the
U.S......if you are working towards ISO recognition. it is ....
'Registered' if you pass an audit, NOT certification,
and if you are organizing for Registration, do not pay for an external
audit but an internal one, your documentation is COMPLIANT.
As informed writers we need to be careful with using correct terminology
going forward. This is why there is so much confusion as exemplified by
some of the questions posted to the listserv.
As Eric mentioned, the ARCHIVES are full of answers to most all of these
recent ISO questions. STC has a wonderful SIG group which supports all
inquires and provides wonderful guidance in getting organized for the
first steps toward ISO methodology. They have a very supportive
membership, and usually untangle all misconceptions and terminology.

For the U.S.....remember there is no such thing as certification only
Registration and Compliancy.
