Actually, you can produce WinHelp directly from FrameMaker files without
dealing with Word or RoboHelp. I know the MIF2RTF filter from Omni
Systems does it well (http://omsys). Quadralay's WebWorks claims to do
WinHelp and HTMLHelp, too -- I use it for HTML conversion, but haven't
had time to try out the help conversion.

In response to the question below... We had to convert Frame docs to
.rft
format, then to .doc format, then to RoboHELP documents....It was, in
short, a pain, and there's no easy shortcut that I'm aware of. From what
I've seen, Word and Frame don't "communicate" very well.
I know Frame allows you to save your docs as .rtf files. Just select....
File: Save As, change your "Files of Type" to an .rtf extension, and
then
it should save your file as an .rtf doc.
What are you trying to do w/your files?

I would like to know if there any programs that can convert FrameMaker
documents into the following formats: Word, RTF, or text? Can such
programs
come as an add-on to Word, or is a separate program required? If such a
program could be downloaded from a Web site, please let me know.
