Subject:Re: FWD: Screen Shots BEFORE OS Loads From:"Walker, Arlen P" <Arlen -dot- P -dot- Walker -at- JCI -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 11 Jun 1998 09:22:43 -0500
I'm documenting a process that includes starting the PC and logging
into the network. I'd like to include screen shots of the network
login process, but have not found a way to get the screen shots. We
run Windows NT 4, and the network login occurs before NT loads: By
the time most screen shot software can run, the screens I need have
long since vanished.
Any suggestions?
Get a camera. Set it up pointing at the screen with a shutter speed of 1/30
sec or a multiple thereof (like 1/15). You'll probably want it on a tripod
for steadiness. Start the process and snap the picture. After developing,
scan the image.
I used to use this method for creating 35mm slide presentations before the
LFR arrived. It's low-tech but reasonably reliable.
Have fun,
