A great deal of electrons have been churned on this list recently
attempting to define "professionalism."

It seems to me that identifying fellow creatives as "foes" or
"nemises," propagates an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust, and
does little to serve the perception of technical writers as
professional (regardless of your personal interpretation of that word.

Imagine your own response if you found a similar "nemisis" posting on
the graphic designers list, with "technical writer" substituted for
"graphic designer."

The business world is well into the adoption of team-oriented, cross
discipline solutions to increasingly complex problems. I would
suggest that any technical writer who clings to an exlusionary view of
others involved in a joint problem-solving activity will find rough
roads ahead.
