Hi all!
I've been asked to start a Technical Documentation Department at a
software company. Could anyone suggest what the basics of such a Dept.
might be, or lead me to a good book on the topic.
I am aware that I will be responisible for the implementation and
production of Online Help - html, chm, hard copy manual and pdf. I'd
like to know what software is most essential to accomplish the former.
Also, could anyone tell me what the average ratio of engineers to tech
writers might be?
