I've got to be one of the longest term members. I remember getting the
new list announcement when I was still a Japanese professor and saying
"Aha! I should look into this!". (It was two weeks after I'd had a
set-to with the OS/2 manual and realized I could do better.) Now I'm a
technical writer in Silicon Valley. Techwr-l made the transition much
easier. It taught me what technical writers concern themselves with
and how they go about solving the problems they face. It prepared me
well for dealing w/ relacitrant SMEs; I think it's one of the reasons
I haven't had any!
