Nope. Not my assumption at all. Remember, I said they are calling it a
movie, not a videotape of a play. I will maintain my belief that if you
want people to use content on a web, it should be designed for a web. I
have observed many people using web publications. In the case you
describe, most print the document and never use it on the web. It all goes
to intention -- how do you want the document to be used?

If your intention is to use the web as only a mechanism for hard copy
delivery -- for looking at and printing a document designed for standard
hard copy production -- PDF is fine. I will not argue that in many cases
this is appropriate. It is also the gist of my argument for PDF.
