One important consideration is the means by which your customers will
view your HTML help files. If you can make a valid assumption that
**all** of your customers will have a resident browser, then you have
no problems in that area. Otherwise, there is a possibility that some
of your customers will not be able to read your help files without
purchasing/obtaining/installing a third party application. In this
case, you would probably be obligated to license a commercial browser
or find some freely distributable browser that will run on the
platform(s) of interest, and distribute/install it with your own
application.

The Engineering group at our company is requesting that we convert our
existing Win Help Online Help (Windows 95 and NT platforms) to an HTML
Help format. Has anyone done this before? If so, what has been your
experience? What are the drawbacks? Benefits? Are there issues with any
particular browser an end user maybe using?

Words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
