Howdy,
When I look at a manual or brochure _I_ notice the font
and its impact. However, I think very few of my users
notice the font style as long as it is readable and
clear. And EVERY time I use some strange font I have
problems getting my documents printed (I use Docutech).
So, I have decided Times and Arial are perfectly fine
given the ease with which they print and their readability.
I might get a little better impact using something else;
however, it is just not worth the hassel to me.
Now, on marketing stuff we use fancy fonts. And we always
have problems with the output. However, it is worth it for
a four-page glossy brochure. It is NOT worth it for a
200-page technical manual in my opinion.
