Much work has been done in the area of creating
localisation support software for documentation.
If you do a search for Translation Memory systems
on the net, you'll find multiple entries for Translation
Memory systems. If you want a broad overview of the
systems, let me know.

A similar amount of work has been done on finding
solutions for software, but without a similar impressive
stable of results. Mainly due to the fact that software
code can be, and often is, written without the aid of
a specific package. There are a couple of systems
on the market, the most recent, and by all accounts
the most impressive to date, is Corel's Catalyst.

GlobalWare published what was probably the first
widely used commercially available TM system for
software. Called XL8Dos, it is/was another very
impressive product. I'm not sure if it's still on the
market, you can contact GlobalWare at the address

Rumour has it that one of the top three TM system
vendors will be announcing a solution for software
that will integrate with their doc system. When I know
more about this, I will let you know.
