I have had a number of people ask me the class schedule for the coming
quarter. I will add scheduling information to another page attached to the
english.usu.edu/distance/registration site, but since a couple of you have
thought the group would find this interesting, I will post it here as well.

Classes begin December 5th and continue until March 16. There are no formal
meeting times. Students will check in, see what other students have had to
say, will respond with their own comments and assignments etc,--2AM is as
effective as 10AM.

An important point, however. These classes are experimental. Future classes
will be better. If you have the stomach to become part of a thoroughly
experimental and chaotic environment, you are welcome, or you can wait for the
better classes. On the other hand, with a faculty level of four full-time and
two part-time we only have room for 75 students. Obviously, the students that
go out on the limb with us will get first choice later on.

On a separate issue. . .our proposal was unanimously approved by the graduate
college. . .they have established the proposal as the model for all similar
proposals to follow. Maybe it is because the proposal was written by
technical writers, eh? We technical writers may be among the "Not Wanted" (an
obvious allusion to the most important thread for this week) but we are still
among the needed.
