Job Posting: Technical Communicator Position

OMI International, Inc. is currently looking for a technical
communicator to begin working immediately in Richardson, TX.
OMI is a software development company specializing in
warehouse (WMS), invoicing, billing, and yard/dock
management systems for the grocery industry. OMI?s
applications are a comprehensive suite of solutions designed
to interact seamlessly to provide a complete business
management system tailored for the needs of food and
perishables distribution.

You will be working under the supervision of another
technical communicator to develop material for software
reference manuals, WinHelp, and possibly computer-based
training (CBT).

We are looking for a writer who meets the following

* 1-2 years relevant experience documenting software.

* Holds at least a Bachelor's degree, a degree in Technical
Communication is preferred.

* Experience with FrameMaker, Acrobat and/or RoboHelp is
preferred but not required. All printed documentation is
written using Adobe FrameMaker and converted to Portable
Document Format (PDF) using Acrobat for distribution.
WinHelp is authored using RoboHelp 5.0.

* Ability to maintain multiple documentation projects

* Takes initiative-is a self-starter.

* Enjoys working with programmers and product

* Ability to occasionally travel to client sites and our
other office in Chicago, IL.

* Knowledge of distribution warehouse operations would be a
plus but not required.
