whoopsie...why didn't I think to do this??? why didn't the tech support
guy suggest it?

well thank you Teresa (I can only say to myself, "DUHHH"). your solution
works...!

(which still doesn't dismiss the fact that there's a bug, but makes my
life a whole lot easier. )
