At our office we use Lotus cc:mail. Sometimes when we recieve messages
with attached files via the internet the attachments are unuseable.
Saving and unzipping the file creates a file name with incorrect
characters (date and time) added or an unuseable path.

Most recently, a co-worker has had a problem where she needed to send
PDF files via e-mail. The recipient couldn't read the file. So we sent a
file from her work PC to my home, and the same file from my work PC to
my home. When I recieved the e-mails at home the attachment on the
e-mail from my PC was useable and listed the following details:

Name: iltoidrp.pdf
Type: Acrobat (application/pdf)

The attachment on the e-mail from her PC was NOT useable and listed the
following details:

iltoidrp.pdf 13-10-97 13:46
Type: unspecified type (application/octet-stream)

Can anyone tell me what's going on here? (Our computer services dept. is
baffled, too).

Thanks, Dave Chisma
