Those of you trying to use Word 97, make sure you download the current
Office 97 service patch which includes the last fix from late August
for a save corruption problem. This is a 7MB download that expands to
30MB on installation. It includes enhanced e-mail support for Outlook
97, Access Snapshot technology, MMX technology support.
This url has all the information you need about Office 97 service
releases and patches, including a patch version checker so that if you
forgot what patch you have applied it will tell you which one to
download.
