What does it take for an occupation to become registered as
"professional" in your country? In the U.S., one can have an
engineering degree but not be "certified" (passing a certain exam) and
still be "professional. Some professions require certification - law
and medicine being obvious examples. But others don't require
certification - training and experience are what counts.
