Reminds me of when I was the only tech writer at the VideoCipher division
of General Instrument almost eight years ago. They had never had a tech
writer before, to my knowledge. So it was a hard row to hoe. A cute little
engineer who oversaw most of my work said "template" the way it's spelled,
a common enough mistake. So I thought that after she heard a professional
technical writer pronounce it correctly, she'd realize her mistake. Nope.
She continued to mispronounce "template" and I continued to pronounce it
correctly for the remainder of my time with this company. I never did
correct her. Now I think I should have, but I didn't.
She thought I was the stupid one. And that's my one greatest memory of
General Instrument. beth
