Are you using a double-sided documemnt? If so, I suspect the extra margin
comes from the binding width--extra space that may be added to the inside
edge of a page to give room for the binding process.

Check Format>Page Layout>Page Size to see if your document is defined as
single- or double-sided. If it's double-sided, check Format>Page
Layout>Column Layout to see whether the Inside margin and the Outside margin
are what you want.
