Writing in the UK we don't have the same degree of PC to worry about -
lucky or not. Re "abort", it is still used here to denote the cancellation
of a process etc that has already started. Generally, Cancel is used if it
has not already started as in Continue or Cancel. Abort(ed) is generally
used for much more serious cases though it is often now replaced with
terminated - as in Program Terminated. I'm not sure if this is any more
"correct" or not.
