Why? The use of master and slave as quoted below fits the definitions
provided by my 1993 Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, tenth
edition.

Since we're on the topic of inappropriate terms, I think that the
analogy of Master and Slave is something we should all be striving to
eliminate from our vernacular...
