Onward to Online: Using indexing to make online documents more accessible
with Bonni Graham
Easy and effective access is crucial to CD-ROM-based online document and
system-dependent help files. Although there are differences between this
new medium and traditional indexing, most of the principles and many of
the practices are similar. This interactive discussion will demonstrate
how indexing adds value to online documents.

Bonni Graham has held a variety of positions in several San Diego
software companies. After graduating from UCSD in 1990 with a degree
in literature and writing, she started out her career as the lone writer
for Data Trek Inc., a library automation developer.
She then moved on to a team environment at Easel Corporation's ENFIN
Technology Labs, working on object-oriented client-server development
environments. Currently Bonni owns a documentation business, Manual
Labour, with clients such as Hewlett-Packard, ARCO, Document
Sciences Corporation, and RDI Computers. Manual Labour recently won an
APEX Award for excellence in design.
In her spare time, Bonni performs with (and is a founding member of) the
Creative Urges, a San Diego improvisational comedy troupe. Bonni can
