And some things not on the web site:

1.) Never neglect a possible job source: send out resumes, do cold
calls, meet other writers. No single source finds you work.


2.) If necessary, start with some volunteer work and build on it so you
have something on your resume.

3.) Be persistent. It took me eight months to start working full-time as
a technical writer, and that seems fairly typical.
